Educational Sciences in Uruguay

Abstract
The article historicizes the development of the field of Educational Sciences at the University of the Republic of Uruguay in the second half f the twentieth and early twenty-first century. For this purpose, it poses some highlights in this process. It also presents an initial characterization of the current constitution on the professional field in the country. The paper concludes by stressing the fundamental issues raised and offers some inquiries in relation to the possibilities of building a field of education studies at the University
