Resumen

La educación comparada, como campo de estudio, se aferra a dos mitos de su propia cosecha: que es útil para asesorar a los gobiernos sobre política educativa y que se dedica a comparar. Sus enredos son más recientes que sus mitos, aunque casi igual de corrosivos: por ejemplo, que PISA y las clasificaciones mundiales de las universidades son una forma de educación comparada, y que esta última se describe bien con la nomenclatura “educación comparada e internacional”. La buena noticia es que comienza a ser posible plantear por qué la “educación comparada” sigue transformándose pero también por qué es improbable que desaparezcan sus principales enigmas intelectuales.
